amBX continues support for Dare

Having previously supported the “Dare to be Digital” design and development competition for games development students it seems amBX have pledged their support for the 2009 competition as well. Alongside the likes of Intel, Emergent and Autodesk they will be providing amBX kits, the SDK and full support to the next budding stars of the games industry.

The Dare to be Digital event is a great opportunity to not only showcase some of the emerging talent in the development sector but also give students the opportunity to experience the highs and lows of pressure situations, working to deadlines, teamwork and interacting with some of the industries leading figures.

It is good to see amBX continuing its involvement and this is another way for them to get the amBX SDK more widely used by development teams. Good work!

amBX in Edinburgh at EIF

It seems that amBX gets just about everywhere. At the start of August I was up in Edinburgh with my other half for the Edinurgh Festival and it seems that whilst we were there another festival was taking place; an interactive one (EIF). Focused around games development, education and virtual worlds they had a showcase area for students that were part of the “Dare to be Digital” challenge. Apparently this is a competition for University students to make a demo of a game, showcase their skills and then win prizes accordingly and yes amBX was one of the sponsors.

Having a walk around there were some very novel and unique concepts on show and a fair few of them had made good use of the amBX kits and technology. I managed to take a few photos at the time but have only just managed to find the cable for the PC to transfer them across. You can find small editions below and as normal, click on them to be taken to a larger version.
