amBX Creator Information
amBX Creator is a new nifty piece of software that the people over at amBX have released that allows you to create your own effects for different events in Windows. This includes loading / minimising / maximising some software, error messages, starting and shutting down your PC and a host of others.
In terms of the types of effects you can create the software is pretty flexible and allows you to combine lights with the fans and rumble strip if you have a Premium Kit. I have included a video below that demonstrates adding lights to the Creator “play map”; the area where you position the peripherals and play with their properties such as fan intensity or the colours of the lights.
You can combine a number of light sources on the play map to give a nice selection of colours for example putting two light sources next to each other, one red and one blue will give a nice mid-purple colour that can then be saved and assigned to an event in Windows. The Control Panel software that is used to assign the effects you create (or the standard ones that are included) to specific events is a little clunky and you need to remember to apply effects and then kit OK for them to be saved.
Again, in reference to the video, is shows how the lighting and fan effects I created were then assigned to Firefox and used when I minimised or maximised FireFox. Although there isn’t an exhuastive list of events that you can assign effects to (from what I can see at the moment anyway) the freedom comes in the fact that you can change the effects everyday if you wanted and create new combinations of lighting / fan / rumble effects.
A pretty neat piece of software if you want your amBX experience outside of playing games, watching movies or listening to music and finally the power of amBX is in your hands to be played with as you see fit.
